Cookie Policy

About this Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Core College uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at www.corecollege.com. It applies to everyone who visits the site, whether you are a prospective student, current student, patient, or simply a visitor.

Core College is the trading name of Core Education Limited, a company registered in the Republic of Ireland under the number 628132, with its registered office at Kilkenny Street, Castlecomer, County Kilkenny ("Core College", "we", "us", "our").

This Cookie Policy sits alongside our Student Privacy Policy and our Patient Privacy Policy, which explain in more detail what we do with the personal data we collect.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember things about your visit, such as your preferences and how you interact with the site. Most websites use them.

Some cookies are essential for the site to work. Others are optional and help us understand how visitors use the site or support our marketing. You can choose which optional cookies to accept through the cookie banner that appears on your first visit, and you can change your choice at any time.

The cookie categories we use

We group cookies into four categories:

  • Strictly necessary cookies are required for the website to function. They cannot be turned off. These cookies handle things like loading pages, remembering items in a form you are filling in, and keeping the site secure.
  • Functional cookies enable specific features on the site, such as the ability to book a discovery call with us or sign up for our newsletter. Without these cookies, those features would not work properly.
  • Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site so that we can improve it. They tell us things like which pages are most visited and how visitors move around the site. They do not identify you personally.
  • Marketing cookies are used to measure the performance of our advertising on Google, Facebook and Instagram, and to show relevant content to people who have visited the site. These are optional and only set if you accept them through the cookie banner.

The cookies we use

The following third-party tools may set cookies on your device when you visit our website:

Tool Category What it does Provider and more information
Squarespace Strictly necessary Our website is built on Squarespace. Squarespace uses cookies to deliver the site, keep it secure, remember your preferences (such as cookie consent choices), and prevent abuse. Squarespace Ireland Limited. See the Squarespace Cookie Policy.
Calendly Functional We use Calendly to let visitors book a 20-minute discovery call. The Calendly booking widget is embedded on our discovery call page. It uses cookies to load the calendar, remember your booking choices, and complete your booking. Calendly LLC. See the Calendly Cookie Notice.
Google Analytics 4 Analytics We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site. It collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you spend on the site, and where visitors come from. The data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. Google Ireland Limited. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Google Ads Marketing We use the Google Ads tag to measure the performance of our advertising on Google Search and YouTube, and to show our adverts to people who have visited our site. Google Ireland Limited. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Meta Pixel Marketing We use the Meta Pixel to measure the performance of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, and to show our adverts to people who have visited our site. The Pixel is provided by Meta. Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. See the Meta Cookies Policy.

Advertising that does not use cookies

Not all advertising works through cookies. Where you have given us your consent to receive marketing from us, we may also share your contact details directly with Google and Meta so that we can reach you, or deliberately avoid reaching you, through their advertising platforms.

This works as follows. Your email address and telephone number are scrambled into a code before they leave us, using a one-way process that cannot be reversed. Google and Meta compare that code against their own records. Where there is a match, we are able to do three things: show you advertising that is relevant to you, stop showing advertising to people who do not need to see it, such as students already enrolled on a programme, and ask the platform to find other people whose interests resemble those of our students and graduates. Google and Meta are not permitted to use your details for their own purposes, and they delete the codes once the comparison is complete.

If you would prefer that we did not do this, you can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or by contacting us on +353 56 444 0254 or at info@corecollege.com. Withdrawing your consent removes you from this and from our marketing emails.

International transfers

Some of our third-party cookie providers, including Google and Meta, may transfer data outside the European Economic Area, in particular to the United States. Where this happens, we rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and other appropriate safeguards required by data protection law to protect your personal data.

How to manage your cookie preferences

You can manage your cookie preferences in two ways.

Through our cookie banner. When you first visit our site, a cookie banner appears at the bottom of the screen. You can accept all cookies, decline non-essential cookies, or click "Manage cookies" to choose which categories you want to allow. You can change your choice at any time by clicking the cookie preferences link in our website footer.

Through your browser. Most web browsers let you control cookies through their settings. You can block all cookies, delete existing cookies, or be warned before a cookie is set. Bear in mind that blocking all cookies, including strictly necessary ones, will affect how the site works and may prevent you from using certain features such as booking a discovery call.

For guidance on managing cookies in your browser, visit the help pages for your specific browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, or whichever you use).

Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we add or change the tools we use on the site. When we make material changes, we will post a notice on our website along with the updated policy.
